Since 2018, Crown Refs has grown from a simple idea into something much bigger than I ever imagined.
What started as an idea to give back turned into:
A Podcast
A Newsletter
Daily Content
A yearly Scholarship
And along the way, something special happened.
Crown Refs became more than officiating education — it became a movement.
Today, I want to clearly define what Crown Refs is, what we stand for, and where we’re going.
This is Crown Refs.
The Mission
Crown Refs exists to elevate the craft of officiating while fostering a growth-driven, supportive community built on character, humility, and continuous development.
That’s the foundation.
Everything we do flows from that mission.
Because Crown Refs isn’t just about learning rules or mechanics — it’s about becoming better officials and better human beings.
Why Crown Refs Was Created
Crown Refs was formed in 2018 to fill a major gap in officiating education.
At the time, there was:
Limited access to training
Very few modern resources
Fragmented officiating communities
Little support for officials
Officiating often felt isolating. Officials were expected to figure things out on their own.
So Crown Refs began using modern communication — podcasts, videos, newsletters, and social media — to provide education, development, and support.
Because teaching is at the heart of Crown Refs, every piece of content was built with learning and growth in mind.
And most importantly…
A home for officials.
